All study programmes are developed in accordance with Bologna guidelines, some of them also holding an international accreditation.
Research is one of faculty's core activities primarily in the fields of economics, social, administrative and organisational sciences, law and education sciences. ISSBS' international conference, international journal and publishing house strengthen the focus of the institution towards intense research. The result of the latter are obtained national research projects (from Slovenian Research Agency) and involvement in international projects, such as partnership in Framework Programme 7, Tempus IV Projects, EACEA Lifelong Learning Programme, Jean Monnet, and research projects, co-funded by European Social Fund.
Beside these two core activities - higher education and research - ISSBS is also active in international cooperation (holding fourteen bilateral agreements with foreign higher education institutions, implementing international summer school and actively promoting Socrates Erasmus exchanges of students, teachers and other staff), consulting, programmes for advancement and lifelong learning programmes.
ISSBS is greatly aware of the importance of cooperation with social-economic environment and therefore organizes round tables on topical issues, research projects with regional companies, participation of field experts in the process of education, study excursions etc. All activities form a productive, dynamic and international educational and research academic environment.
