As part of the MakeLearn, TIIM & PiConf 2026 programme, the conference will host an Open Science Forum titled Open Science for Global Knowledge Equity – Opportunities, Challenges and Institutional Strategies.
The forum will address how Open Science principles and practices can contribute to more equitable access to knowledge across regions, institutions, and communities. Particular attention will be given to institutional strategies, policy frameworks, and practical challenges related to the implementation of Open Science, including issues of infrastructure, incentives, governance, and sustainability.
The discussion will bring together perspectives from higher education institutions, research organisations, and international initiatives, offering participants an opportunity to reflect on how Open Science can support global collaboration while maintaining research quality and integrity.
The Open Science Forum complements the conference’s broader focus on leadership, learning, and managing change in a complex world and is designed as an interactive space for dialogue, exchange of experiences, and critical reflection.
